I’m a senior at UMD double majoring in Communication and Journalism. I recently moved to Lincoln Park as my fiance and I bought a house off of 27th Ave W. I am currently working at the Multimedia Hub in the library at UMD. In my free time, I enjoy exploring Duluth and taking pictures as well as playing frisbee golf at Lincoln Park.
Greetings, all! My name is Megan Carson, I’m currently a senior at UMD fulfilling my undergraduate degree in communications while minoring in journalism. I was recently awarded a journalism scholarship that allowed me to get an internship at the Duluth News Tribune. I’ve also written various articles for the UMD Statesman as a volunteer reporter. Exploring nature and learning are two of my favorite things to do.
Hi! My name is Sebastian Nemec. I’m a junior at UMD studying Cultural Entrepreneurship and Journalism. I’m the public affairs noncommissioned officer for the 34th Combat Aviation Brigade, Minnesota Army National Guard and deployed to Kuwait in this position in 2014-15 as well. My journalistic strengths are in photojournalism and writing. I also love to travel; so far I’ve been to 14 U.S. states and six countries outside of the U.S.
I am currently a Senior at UMD majoring in Journalism and minoring in English. In my free time I try to do anything that involves being outside. I enjoy traveling, reading, action sports and sitting down to listen to a good podcast. After graduation, I hope to get involved with action sports and covering events.
I am currently a Junior at UMD majoring in communications and minoring in journalism. I am a reporter for the UMD Statesman and love to be able to go out into the community. In my free time I love to hang out with my friends and explore the city of Duluth.
I’m a Junior at the University of Minnesota- Duluth where I am majoring in Journalism and minoring in Political Science. I like to read, write, take photos and go on various outdoor adventures. I write boating blogs for a InTune Marine in St. Cloud and write about women’s hockey for the sports section of the UMD Statesman. I’m serving primarily as a photographer for the Lincoln Park Youth Voice project.
I am a senior at University of Minnesota Duluth, finishing up my last year as a Writing Studies and English student. I also work at the Zeitgeist Arts Cafe in downtown Duluth, and spend my free time enjoying the outdoors with dog Ellie and reading comic books. With five younger siblings, I’ve had a lot of practice in interacting with and teaching children, so this project was a natural fit for me. I’ve been really enjoying my time with the kids, and hope to see some awesome journalism and positivity come out of this project!
I’m a junior at UMD majoring in journalism. I write for the Statesman on campus covering sports. In the past, I’ve worked with kids at a YMCA summer camp here in Duluth. My favorite things to do are play hockey and golf and spend time with my friends.
I am currently a sophomore at UMD studying Journalism and Photography. In my free time I love to read, travel, and spend time outdoors. I have written articles for The Statesman as well as the Duluth Budgeteer. After graduation I hope to pursue photojournalism as well as reporting and writing.
My name is Logan Kaufenberg from Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota. I am a senior in the journalism program at the University of Minnesota Duluth that is using design thinking to approach storytelling in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Duluth. Storytelling has always been a great interest of mine and helping the Lincoln Park community tell theirs through the youth has been a joy. My other hobbies include sports, food, and all things music.
Hey hi! My name is Quentin Stille, and I’m a junior at UMD studying Communication and Journalism. I currently work at 103.3 KUMD as their College Radio Music Director, where duties entail listening to music from all over globe, as well as live Djing at the station every Monday and Tuesday. I love Duluth’s music culture(s), and I’m most certainly looking forward to Homegrown. I also take video of live in-studios at KUMD, as well as some punk videography on the side.
