Cross City Trail

New!

What's the latest word on the trail?

• The City of Duluth Parks and Recreation Division is preparing a mini-master plan for the Cross City Trail. The mini-master plan will guide trail development over the next 25+ years and will allow the City to seek Regional Trail Designation from the Greater Minnesota Regional Parks and Trails Commission, in order to apply for Legacy Grant funding.

•The project began in May 2015 and is expected to be complete by the summer of 2016.

•There will be two opportunities for public input. The first was held on December 10 to introduce the project and receive input on issues, opportunities, and trail alignment alternatives. The second public meeting will be during the early part of 2016 to review the draft master plan before a final plan is presented to the Parks Commission and the City Council for approval.

Dream about riding your bike from Brighton Beach on the east side of Duluth all the way to the Munger Trail on the west side? The multi-use Cross City Trail will be making this dream a reality. As the Trail is built, pedestrians and cyclists will have a new way to experience the city--whether they're commuting, exercising, or just visiting. The Lincoln Park portion of the trail has been completed, with further portions being added.
